You Are Me

You are me, cut out of the same cloth

a different chip, of the same block

just dipped in wine, of a different sort

soaked and steeped, in a different sauce

poured out of same, elements raw

in a different mould, just in a different form

But you are me

cut out of the same cloth

If in your house, had I been born

won’t I like the same food, that you yearn

won’t I laugh and cry, with your parents such

won’t I love your loved ones, just as much

won’t I frolic around, with your siblings  all

won’t I hurt the same as you, if I had a slip and fall

You are me, cut out of the same cloth

a different chip, of the same block

The difference lies, not in who we are

but what we believe, and what’s been taught

A set of different lies, we have both been told

about where we come from, and where we go

they got hold of us, when we were really small

so we couldn’t use our, discretion at all

then our brains were pumped, with figments of lies

that slowly took hold, that slowly we imbibed

lies were smart you see, there weren’t of here and now

but of future unknown, that none can ever know

About angels and demons, and heavens and hells

and if if you just listened to them, you will be well

So believers we became, not seekers of truth

letting our own brains, just go kaput

on doctrines and commandments,we started to lean

our knowledge and experience, we chose to disbelieve

on the crossroads of life, therefore when we meet

we look so different, but we are the same you see

Yet another group has taken, a different path to divide

about the have and have nots, that always must fight

bounties of life we are told are a limited pie

that we must always, fight to divide

communists, capitalists, always buzz over our heads

ready to swoop in, in the name of help

they want us to join in, their camp you see

the other ones they say, are a bit sketchy

we must take whats ours, from those other ones

who are doing the same, just in a different form

so we carry on, each on a different beat

thinking that in life, we are a bit lonely

lets drop the differences, lets defeat those lies

lets seek together, enduring truths that bind

truth that animals, plants, and all of us

are all just made of the, same stardust

that this ball of dirt called Earth, that supports all life

is the uniquest miracle, on which you ever set your eyes

that there is infinite darkness and cold, in all directions known

filled with radiation, starlight and the vast unknown

that the Gods of our likeness, whom we have hung in the sky

are just imaginations, half truths and mostly lies

that a lifeforce cradles us, that we do not understand

that unleashes this magnificent, cosmic dance

that to seek the truths, with experience and senses

is a wiser path, than blindly following the doctrines that divide

that compassion and love, that we so desperately seek

is in turn what the entire existence needs

to be kind and thoughtful,is not our privilege you see

its the only way, we ever can be happy

See how many flowers carries, a blooming tree

see many blades of grass, can just coexist

We are here not because of Gods, Godesses and such,

we are here because, nature has allowed as much

If we exploit and exploit, all that is around

soon enough, we will all not be found

There is a simple and profound, law of nature at play

you only get to have , what you give away

Since me and you, of the same fabric are made

being invested in each other, is the only way
